“Every time that Matan comes to cook for us, he manages to surprise us. Whenever we have guests over, the reaction is the same…wow!

Chef Matan Bell

For Matan, the Japanese cuisine is a kind of shrine. He always aspires to excel and perfectly master this style. For Matan, learning and evolving is a never-ending process. In Japan, Matan fell in love with the mentality and the people. “The simplicity and complexity that exist side by side completely charmed me”. Matan studied  in the Japanese cities Tokyo and Osaka, where he specialized in the secrets of the Asian cuisine, with an emphasis Japanese foods. He acquired in-depth knowledge of complicated, traditional techniques of preparing the nation’s most authentic dishes, including the traditional way of serving and of handling raw ingredients. Matan provides Asian culinary consultation services for a wide array of clients, restaurants and organizations both in Israel and abroad, including the Setai hotel in Jaffa, the Minna Tomei restaurant chain, the East and West import company, and many others.

During his studies, which included training at famous Michelin-starred restaurants, Matan made sure to eat the food prepared by the greatest local chefs, thus living up to  the mantra “in order to cook well, one must eat well.” He absorbed and fell in love with the quiet, precise Japanese mentality. Matan is considered a prodigy in the art of Japanese dining. His private, exclusive events enjoy the Japanese culinary and cultural experience through unique dishes, all-round, highly courteous service, and a flawless performance. Something that Matan will not settle on, under any circumstances, is the quality of the raw ingredients he uses. The fresh ginger and wasabi, alongside the other high-quality ingredients, blend into Matan’s famous nigiri dishes to create a unique texture that provides a variety of flavors that constantly surprise the diner. Each meal combines as many of these bite-size dishes in order to provide the diners with a deep, rich experience of flavors, scents and faraway lands.

Unequivocally, the best sushi I’ve ever had! From the moment we first approached him and until event ended, the service was phenomenal and the food outstanding. Highly recommended!
